Cute Shop Find: Daily Lacquer

My friend Maggy recently started a blog and etsy shop, and she is now booming! I couldn't be prouder of her.  She makes nail polish with awesome nerdy themes and also blogs about manicures and nail polishes she is loving right now.  Her manicures include themes from the movie Up and the cartoon Fairly Oddparents.  I love how she incorporates her adorable, nerdy interests into beauty.  It's a really unique spin on nail art and a true breath of fresh air from your average rhinestone, floral, or french manicures.

I ordered her Buddy nail polish (based on one of my favorite movies ever, Elf!) it is kind of a 50's green color with flecks of gold and some star glitter.  So cute! I really loved how this looked so vintage, and even though it's a Christmas polish, it could easily transition to other seasons because of the shade of green!

She also sent me Maple Syrup from the same collection.  I had been eyeing this one from the day she announced it on Facebook.  I painted my nails first with Milani's Mr. Sandman then put this on as a top coat. It's a glitter gel polish that can be used in a lot of different ways. I can see this going over gold, brown, and white and looking very pretty.

Her polishes are really long lasting and only took 2 coats to look perfect.  The only dislike I have is that they are hard to get off, but that's actually a good thing.  Just like OPI that lasts for such a long time, it's really hard to get off as well.  I'd rather have that problem than having a polish that chips after 1 or 2 days.  What I found best to do was to soak my nail in polish remover, then use a cottonball that also has remover on it, and it comes off pretty well like that.

I cannot wait to see what she comes out with in the future; she already has a Sailor Moon collection out that I will need to start collecting soon!
