I was just taught by my friend how to crochet. I haven't learned anything super fancy yet, just the basics of crocheting in a spiral and some other random crochet knowledge. I found some crochet rug tutorials online via Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. A lot of the tutorials didn't make sense to me while I was actually making the rug, so I kind of mishmashed it with what my friend showed me. It turned out super cute!
I started with a bedsheet and a duvet cover I found at Goodwill for a total of $8 The duvet on one side was the striped material, and the other side was the darker green. Add in one ginormous crochet hook and start crocheting around and around and around and around.
Now I'm totally ready to make a huge one and I want to make one for everyone I know! This was super quick. After you get done cutting all of the strips it's maybe...2 hours? It would take a bit longer if you added some sort of backing to your rug. It ends up with all of the knots in the fabric on the back of the rug which is not very good looking.
